Buried Fire Dates: January 1996

Buried Fire examined the life of the incarcerated woman through the lens of the Ugly Duckling fairy tale. "We see the Ugly Duckling story as being analogous to the incarcerated woman's story of pain, degradation, self-induced drugged alienation and hopefully, transformation." In collaboration with San Francisco's multi-cultural women's community, Buried Fire was an amazing theatrical journey incorporating original and popular music, movement and text rooted in the 'art of re-memory.' Buried Fire celebrated the trials and tribulations of the female offender's perpetual struggle to find her own voice, to reclaim herself, her own life.

Reality is Just Outside The Window Dates: January 1992

Reality Is Just Outside The Window was an autobiographical, multimedia performance that used the myth of Medea to help tell the stories of woman: Medea, the betrayed lover who exacted revenge on her husband, Jason, by slaughtering their children; Medea, another woman who gave over her power to a man; Medea, another woman who loved too much.
